The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 438, lost was 1129, and unchanged was 74. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
FAST RETAILING <9983> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 301.85 yen to The Nikkei. Below, TDK <6762> was at 31.07 yen, KDDI <9433> was at 24.66 yen, CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> was at 21.41 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 20.72 yen.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 133.10 yen. This was followed by 7&i <3382> at 11.39 yen, HOYA <7741> at 6.08 yen, NTT DATA <9613> at 5.92 yen, Nintendo <7974> at 4.24 yen.
By industry, 4 of the 33 industries gained. Other Products Sector ranked first, followed by Metal Products Sector, Precision Instruments Sector, and Fishery, Agriculture & Forestry Sector. Marine Transportation Sector, Transportation Equipment Sector, and Pharmaceuticals Sector were among the top losers.
