On the 12th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 476.91 yen (1.21%) higher from the previous day to 39,849.14 yen, rising for the forth days in a row. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1053, lost was 527, and unchanged was 61. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 113.11 yen. This was followed by FAST RETAILING <9983> at 41.73 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> at 37.48 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 34.92 yen, TDK <6762> at 20.47 yen.
Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 6.91 yen to The Nikkei. Below, KONAMI <9766> was at 4.93 yen, 7&i <3382> was at 3.95 yen, YASKAWA Electric <6506> was at 1.87 yen, TAIYO YUDEN <6976> was at 1.4 yen.
By industry, 31 of the 33 industries gained, with only two industries, Iron & Steel Sector and Metal Products Sector, lost. Oil & Coal Products Sector ranked as a top gainer, followed by Services Sector, Electric Appliances Sector, Electric Power & Gas Sector, Rubber Products Sector, and Textiles & Apparels Sector.
