MATSUMOTO, First Half Net Income Loss Widens

Earnings ReportMATSUMOTO INC. <7901> [TSE Std] announced its financial results after the market closed on December 13th (15:30). The net loss (non-consolidated) for the cumulative second quarter of the fiscal year ending April 2025 (May to October) expanded to a loss of 491 million yen (compared to a loss of 340 million yen in the same period last year), further increasing the deficit beyond the forecast of a loss of 393 million yen.
Based on the first-half performance announced by the company and the unchanged full-year plan, our calculation indicates that the net income for the November to April period (second half) is expected to expand 96.1% from the same period last year, reaching 498 million yen.
In the most recent three-month period, from August to October (2Q), the net loss expanded to a loss of 326 million yen (compared to a loss of 216 million yen in the same period last year). The operating profit/loss margin drastically worsened from -152.2% in the same period last year to -213.6%.
