Earnings ReportMarubeni Corporation <8002> [TSE Prime] announced its financial results (based on IFRS) in the morning on November 4th (11:00). The consolidated net income for the cumulative second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2026 (April to September) increased 28.3% from the same period last year, reaching 305 billion yen. Progress toward the full-year plan of 510 billion yen was 59.9%, also surpassing the five-year average of 50.5%.
Based on the first-half performance announced by the company and the unchanged full-year plan, our calculation indicates that the consolidated net income for the October to March period (second half) is expected to decrease 22.8% from the same period last year to 204 billion yen.
In the most recent three-month period, from July to September (2Q), the consolidated net income increased 58.2% from the same period last year, reaching 151 billion yen. However, the operating profit margin worsened from 2.8% in the same period last year to 2.0%.
