HOKKO CHEMICAL INDUSTRY CO.,LTD. <4992> [TSE-S] announced its financial results after the market closed on October 7th (15:00). The consolidated ordinary profit for the cumulative third quarter of the fiscal year ending November 2024 (December 2023 to August 2024) decreased by 5.9% from the same period last year to 5.25 billion yen. However, The progress rate against the full-year plan of 5.1 billion yen is 102.9%, already exceeding the target and also exceeding the five-year average of 93.3%.

Based on the third-quarter cumulative performance announced by the company and the unchanged full-year plan, our calculation indicates that the consolidated ordinary loss for the September to November period (4Q) is expected to expand to a loss of 150 million yen (compared to a loss of 105 million yen in the same period last year).

In the most recent three-month period, from June to August (3Q), the consolidated ordinary profit decreased to 1.28 billion yen, a 18.4% decrease compared to the same period last year. The operating profit margin decreased from 11.6% in the same period last year to 10.3%.
