Ajinomoto, Last Fiscal Year Net Income Revised Downward to an Unexpected 14% Decrease

Guidance Update ReportAjinomoto Co., Inc. <2802> [TSE Prime] announced a performance revision after the market closed on April 24th (15:30). The consolidated net income for the fiscal year ending March 2025 has decreased 21.2%, from the previous forecast of 95 billion yen to 74.9 billion yen (compared to 87.1 billion yen in the previous period). This changes the outlook from an anticipated profit increase to a projection of a 14.0% decrease in profit.
Based on the downwardly revised full-year plan announced by the company, our calculation indicates that the October to March period (2H) consolidated net income has decreased 44.9%, from the previous forecast of 44.7 billion yen to 24.6 billion yen (compared to 40.6 billion yen in the same period of the previous year). This changes the outlook from an anticipated profit increase to a projection of a 39.3% decrease in profit.
