On the 2nd, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 200.09 yen (-0.30%) lower from the previous day to 66,734.24 yen, falling for the first time in third days. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 436, lost was 1088, and unchanged was 34. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
TDK <6762> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 128.22 yen to The Nikkei. Below, FANUC <6954> was at 81.79 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 66.78 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> was at 53.64 yen, IBIDEN <4062> was at 44.25 yen.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 155.68 yen. This was followed by Kioxia <285A> at 118.27 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 73.21 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 65.37 yen, SONY <6758> at 21.29 yen.
By industry, 10 of the 33 industries gained. Mining Sector ranked first, followed by Securities & Commodities Futures Sector, Oil & Coal Products Sector, and Banks Sector. Nonferrous Metals Sector, Metal Products Sector, and Air Transportation Sector were among the top losers.
