On the 23rd, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 445.63 yen (-0.75%) lower from the previous day to 59,140.23 yen, falling for the first time in forth days. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 339, lost was 1184, and unchanged was 46. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
FAST RETAILING <9983> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 194.7 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 39.42 yen, FANUC <6954> was at 28.66 yen, NITTO DENKO <6988> was at 21.45 yen, KYOCERA <6971> was at 21.19 yen.
The top positive contributor was SoftBank Group Corp <9984>, pushing up The Nikkei by 174.58 yen. This was followed by CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> at 16.69 yen, Kioxia <285A> at 13.61 yen, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries <7011> at 8.25 yen, MITSUI & CO <8031> at 7.04 yen.
By industry, 6 of the 33 industries gained. Mining Sector ranked first, followed by Real Estate Sector, Machinery Sector, and Information & Communication Sector. Air Transportation Sector, Nonferrous Metals Sector, and Services Sector were among the top losers.
