On the 17th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 1,042.44 yen (-1.75%) lower from the previous day to 58,475.90 yen, falling for the first time in forth days. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 485, lost was 1025, and unchanged was 61. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 182.23 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Tokyo Electron <8035> was at 182.02 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was at 116.66 yen, Kioxia <285A> was at 78.37 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 63.56 yen.
The top positive contributor was TDK <6762>, pushing up The Nikkei by 38.22 yen. This was followed by Recruit Holdings <6098> at 25.04 yen, BayCurrent Inc <6532> at 10.66 yen, Nintendo <7974> at 9.75 yen, NITTO DENKO <6988> at 8.72 yen.
By industry, 4 of the 33 industries gained. Services Sector ranked first, followed by Other Products Sector, Mining Sector, and Textiles & Apparels Sector. Nonferrous Metals Sector, Metal Products Sector, and Securities & Commodities Futures Sector were among the top losers.
