Crude Oil ETFs Gain as WTI Tops $116 in After-Hours Trade
Crude oil ETFs including NEXT FUNDS NOMURA Crude Oil Long Index Linked Exchange Traded Fund <1699> and WisdomTree WTI Crude Oil <1690> moved higher. The May WTI (West Texas Intermediate) crude oil futures contract rose to $116 per barrel during afternoon Japan time trading, reaching a one-month high ? a level not seen since March 9, when prices touched the $119 range. At a press conference on the 6th, President Trump described negotiations with Iran as "going well," while warning that he would order the destruction of bridges and power plants if Iran fails to comply. With the negotiation deadline of 9:00 a.m. Japan Time on the 8th (8:00 p.m. ET on the 7th) drawing near, crude oil prices continued to firm.
