Market Breadth at 10:00 AM: Advancers Outpace Decliners Nearly 4-to-1
As of 10:00 AM, advancers outpaced decliners on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market, with 1,198 issues in the green compared to 302 in the red, while 72 remained unchanged. Buying was broad-based, with 30 out of 33 industry sectors trending higher. Nonferrous metals, oil & coal products, and precision instruments led the advance, followed closely by banks, mining, and shipping. In contrast, the market saw some weakness in electric power & gas, land transport, and air transport, which were the day’s primary laggards.
