On the 24th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 736.79 yen (1.43%) higher from the previous day to 52,252.28 yen, rebound for the first time in third days. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1507, lost was 59, and unchanged was 15. Commerce was high across the board, with over 90% of rising stocks.
The top positive contributor was Tokyo Electron <8035>, pushing up The Nikkei by 83.23 yen. This was followed by Tokio Marine <8766> at 50.14 yen, Fujikura <5803> at 42.45 yen, CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> at 27.78 yen, DAIKIN INDUSTRIES <6367> at 24.07 yen.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 102.95 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Nintendo <7974> was at 14.97 yen, KONAMI <9766> was at 7.52 yen, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries <7011> was at 2.91 yen, TDK <6762> was at 2.51 yen.
By industry, 32 of the 33 industries gained, with only one industry, Other Products Sector, lost. Insurance Sector ranked as a top gainer, followed by Nonferrous Metals Sector, Oil & Coal Products Sector, Glass & Ceramics Products Sector, Wholesale Trade Sector, and Real Estate Sector.
