On the 18th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 1,539.01 yen (2.87%) higher from the previous day to 55,239.40 yen, rebound for the first time in fifth days. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1495, lost was 75, and unchanged was 16. Commerce was high across the board, with over 90% of rising stocks.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 423.84 yen. This was followed by SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 165.26 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 151.42 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> at 60.17 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> at 47.97 yen.
CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 33.29 yen to The Nikkei. Below, SONY <6758> was at 6.85 yen, KONAMI <9766> was at 4.35 yen, FUJITSU LIMITED <6702> was at 1.57 yen, ROHM <6963> was at 1.57 yen.
By industry, all 33 industries were gainers. Marine Transportation Sector ranked first, followed by Oil & Coal Products Sector, Electric Power & Gas Sector, Wholesale Trade Sector, Nonferrous Metals Sector, and Air Transportation Sector.
