On the 13th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 633.35 yen (-1.16%) lower from the previous day to 53,819.61 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 470, lost was 1053, and unchanged was 64. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 227.29 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Tokyo Electron <8035> was at 141.39 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was at 136.38 yen, FANUC <6954> was at 20.39 yen, TOYOTA MOTOR <7203> was at 16.21 yen.
The top positive contributor was Fujikura <5803>, pushing up The Nikkei by 27.41 yen. This was followed by Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> at 21.73 yen, Lasertec <6920> at 16.04 yen, KONAMI <9766> at 13.54 yen, IBIDEN <4062> at 12.57 yen.
By industry, 11 of the 33 industries gained. Mining Sector ranked first, followed by Nonferrous Metals Sector, Wholesale Trade Sector, and Oil & Coal Products Sector. Transportation Equipment Sector, Air Transportation Sector, and Rubber Products Sector were among the top losers.
