The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 295, lost was 1260, and unchanged was 37. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 139.05 yen to The Nikkei. Below, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was at 89.05 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> was at 67.19 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 57.76 yen, IBIDEN <4062> was at 32.16 yen.
The top positive contributor was CHUGAI PHARMA <4519>, pushing up The Nikkei by 33.59 yen. This was followed by Sumitomo Electric <5802> at 14.31 yen, Otsuka <4578> at 5.68 yen, Mitsui Mining and Smelting <5706> at 5.40 yen, Yokohama Rubber <5101> at 5.38 yen.
By industry, 4 of the 33 industries gained. Nonferrous Metals Sector ranked first, followed by Marine Transportation Sector, Pharmaceuticals Sector, and Machinery Sector. Securities & Commodities Futures Sector, Transportation Equipment Sector, and Air Transportation Sector were among the top losers.
