On the 17th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 239.92 yen (-0.42%) lower from the previous day to 56,566.49 yen, falling for the forth days in a row. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 676, lost was 861, and unchanged was 55.
SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 191.73 yen to The Nikkei. Below, ADVANTEST <6857> was at 81.56 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> was at 32.59 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 25.17 yen, FANUC <6954> was at 23.23 yen.
The top positive contributor was Tokyo Electron <8035>, pushing up The Nikkei by 77.21 yen. This was followed by TDK <6762> at 54.15 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> at 43.32 yen, Murata Manufacturing <6981> at 18.13 yen, TAIYO YUDEN <6976> at 11.90 yen.
By industry, 16 of the 33 industries gained. Textiles & Apparels Sector ranked first, followed by Glass & Ceramics Products Sector, Oil & Coal Products Sector, and Air Transportation Sector. Banks Sector, Information & Communication Sector, and Services Sector were among the top losers.
