On the 16th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 135.56 yen (-0.24%) lower from the previous weekend to 56,806.41 yen, falling for the third days in a row. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 802, lost was 740, and unchanged was 50.
FAST RETAILING <9983> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 182.9 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Tokyo Electron <8035> was at 61.17 yen, OLYMPUS <7733> was at 31.89 yen, TERUMO <4543> was at 27.14 yen, TOYOTA TSUSHO <8015> was at 25.27 yen.
The top positive contributor was SoftBank Group Corp <9984>, pushing up The Nikkei by 239.06 yen. This was followed by FANUC <6954> at 33.93 yen, Nitori <9843> at 24.07 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> at 20.96 yen, KONAMI <9766> at 20.89 yen.
By industry, 12 of the 33 industries gained. Iron & Steel Sector ranked first, followed by Information & Communication Sector, Mining Sector, and Glass & Ceramics Products Sector. Rubber Products Sector, Banks Sector, and Precision Instruments Sector were among the top losers.
