On the 12th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 10.70 yen (-0.02%) lower from the previous business day to 57,639.84 yen, falling for the first time in forth days. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1054, lost was 502, and unchanged was 36. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 231.31 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 55.65 yen, TDK <6762> was at 36.85 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> was at 20.06 yen, BayCurrent Inc <6532> was at 17.55 yen.
The top positive contributor was SoftBank Group Corp <9984>, pushing up The Nikkei by 89.85 yen. This was followed by Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> at 48.80 yen, IBIDEN <4062> at 39.17 yen, KDDI <9433> at 32.69 yen, TOYOTA TSUSHO <8015> at 31.49 yen.
By industry, 23 of the 33 industries gained. Mining Sector ranked first, followed by Nonferrous Metals Sector, Electric Power & Gas Sector, and Wholesale Trade Sector. Services Sector, Other Products Sector, and Air Transportation Sector were among the top losers.
