Nikkei 225 close on the 24th = falling for the first time in 4 days, 68 yen lower to 50,344 yen
On the 24th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 68.77 yen (-0.14%) lower from the previous day to 50,344.10 yen, falling for the first time in forth days. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 511, lost was 1015, and unchanged was 74. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 42.12 yen to The Nikkei. Below, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 40.91 yen, TDK <6762> was at 34.34 yen, SONY <6758> was at 13.2 yen, KONAMI <9766> was at 12.37 yen.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 129.69 yen. This was followed by IBIDEN <4062> at 23.23 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 22.06 yen, SCREEN Holdings <7735> at 18.18 yen, Fujikura <5803> at 7.69 yen.
By industry, 9 of the 33 industries gained. Nonferrous Metals Sector ranked first, followed by Land Transportation Sector, Marine Transportation Sector, and Iron & Steel Sector. Air Transportation Sector, Insurance Sector, and Transportation Equipment Sector were among the top losers.
