On the 4th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 1,163.74 yen (2.33%) higher from the previous day to 51,028.42 yen, rising for the third days in a row. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1270, lost was 284, and unchanged was 52. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was SoftBank Group Corp <9984>, pushing up The Nikkei by 306.85 yen. This was followed by FAST RETAILING <9983> at 121.94 yen, FANUC <6954> at 114.32 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 104.29 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> at 30.75 yen.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 42.78 yen to The Nikkei. Below, M3 Inc <2413> was at 7.78 yen, EBARA <6361> was at 4.21 yen, Sumitomo Pharma <4506> was at 4.04 yen, Sumitomo Electric <5802> was at 3.98 yen.
By industry, 29 of the 33 industries gained. Wholesale Trade Sector ranked first, followed by Information & Communication Sector, Securities & Commodities Futures Sector, and Transportation Equipment Sector. Fishery, Agriculture & Forestry Sector, Electric Power & Gas Sector, and Nonferrous Metals Sector were among the top losers.
