Nikkei 225 close on the 1st = falling for the first time in 5 days, 950 yen lower to 49,303 yen

On the 1st, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 950.63 yen (-1.89%) lower from the previous weekend to 49,303.28 yen, falling for the first time in fifth days. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 296, lost was 1268, and unchanged was 42. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.

ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 233.98 yen to The Nikkei. Below, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 95.46 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was at 58.16 yen, Fujikura <5803> was at 53.65 yen, TDK <6762> was at 41.11 yen.

The top positive contributor was Sumitomo Electric <5802>, pushing up The Nikkei by 6.32 yen. This was followed by SCREEN Holdings <7735> at 4.01 yen, SECOM <9735> at 3.88 yen, TAIYO YUDEN <6976> at 3.24 yen, Hitachi Construction Machinery <6305> at 2.81 yen.

By industry, 31 of the 33 industries lost, with only two industries, Banks Sector and Oil & Coal Products Sector, gained. Electric Power & Gas Sector ranked as a top loser, followed by Mining Sector, Real Estate Sector, Nonferrous Metals Sector, Electric Appliances Sector, and Construction Sector.
