On the 27th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 608.03 yen (1.23%) higher from the previous day to 50,167.10 yen, rising for the third days in a row. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 971, lost was 568, and unchanged was 67. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 254.03 yen. This was followed by SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 116.32 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 101.28 yen, TDK <6762> at 43.87 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> at 21.66 yen.
CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 13.84 yen to The Nikkei. Below, TERUMO <4543> was at 11.5 yen, Shionogi <4507> was at 6.97 yen, Otsuka <4578> was at 6.22 yen, DAIICHI SANKYO <4568> was at 5.41 yen.
By industry, 19 of the 33 industries gained. Electric Appliances Sector ranked first, followed by Nonferrous Metals Sector, Mining Sector, and Glass & Ceramics Products Sector. Pharmaceuticals Sector, Precision Instruments Sector, and Oil & Coal Products Sector were among the top losers.
