The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 949, lost was 603, and unchanged was 57. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.

The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 224.62 yen. This was followed by M3 Inc <2413> at 40.11 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 25.07 yen, CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> at 24.37 yen, Fujikura <5803> at 21.06 yen.

SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 148.41 yen to The Nikkei. Below, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 76.21 yen, TERUMO <4543> was at 42.65 yen, KDDI <9433> was at 15.04 yen, KONAMI <9766> was at 13.04 yen.

By industry, 25 of the 33 industries gained. Nonferrous Metals Sector ranked first, followed by Electric Power & Gas Sector, Securities & Commodities Futures Sector, and Rubber Products Sector.
