The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1227, lost was 345, and unchanged was 38. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 203.23 yen. This was followed by Tokyo Electron <8035> at 140.39 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 111.31 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> at 81.83 yen, OLYMPUS <7733> at 28.88 yen.
Recruit Holdings <6098> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 38.11 yen to The Nikkei. Below, CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> was at 23.06 yen, Nintendo <7974> was at 16.21 yen, HONDA MOTOR <7267> was at 14.84 yen, OMRON <6645> was at 12.84 yen.
By industry, 25 of the 33 industries gained. Oil & Coal Products Sector ranked first, followed by Mining Sector, Metal Products Sector, and Glass & Ceramics Products Sector. Other Products Sector, Services Sector, and Fishery, Agriculture & Forestry Sector were among the top losers.
