The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 970, lost was 577, and unchanged was 65. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 233.00 yen. This was followed by FAST RETAILING <9983> at 174.55 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 154.55 yen, KONAMI <9766> at 124.75 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 120.20 yen.
KYOCERA <6971> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 24.65 yen to The Nikkei. Below, DENSO <6902> was at 18.65 yen, DAIICHI SANKYO <4568> was at 17.48 yen, ORIENTAL LAND <4661> was at 11.62 yen, KEYENCE <6861> was at 8.89 yen.
By industry, 23 of the 33 industries gained. Electric Power & Gas Sector ranked first, followed by Food Products Sector, Nonferrous Metals Sector, and Electric Appliances Sector. Transportation Equipment Sector, Metal Products Sector, and Pharmaceuticals Sector were among the top losers.
