On the 9th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 845.45 yen (1.77%) higher from the previous day to 48,580.44 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 928, lost was 620, and unchanged was 65. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was SoftBank Group Corp <9984>, pushing up The Nikkei by 475.76 yen. This was followed by FAST RETAILING <9983> at 127.68 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 44.95 yen, FANUC <6954> at 35.02 yen, Fujikura <5803> at 27.61 yen.
TOYOTA MOTOR <7203> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 10.35 yen to The Nikkei. Below, TERUMO <4543> was at 9.97 yen, Nintendo <7974> was at 6.06 yen, SCREEN Holdings <7735> was at 4.98 yen, KONAMI <9766> was at 4.88 yen.
By industry, 20 of the 33 industries gained. Information & Communication Sector ranked first, followed by Securities & Commodities Futures Sector, Nonferrous Metals Sector, and Oil & Coal Products Sector. Marine Transportation Sector, Fishery, Agriculture & Forestry Sector, and Transportation Equipment Sector were among the top losers.
