Nikkei 225 close on the 8th = falling for the first time in 5 days, 215 yen lower to 47,734 yen
On the 8th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 215.89 yen (-0.45%) lower from the previous day to 47,734.99 yen, falling for the first time in fifth days. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 555, lost was 999, and unchanged was 59. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 84.85 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Tokyo Electron <8035> was at 84.34 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 31.52 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> was at 19.36 yen, KDDI <9433> was at 17.78 yen.
The top positive contributor was Fujikura <5803>, pushing up The Nikkei by 22.73 yen. This was followed by Recruit Holdings <6098> at 12.22 yen, Tokio Marine <8766> at 11.01 yen, SONY <6758> at 8.08 yen, KONAMI <9766> at 8.08 yen.
By industry, 14 of the 33 industries gained. Nonferrous Metals Sector ranked first, followed by Fishery, Agriculture & Forestry Sector, Insurance Sector, and Securities & Commodities Futures Sector. Rubber Products Sector, Precision Instruments Sector, and Pulp & Paper Sector were among the top losers.
