On the 22nd, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 447.85 yen (0.99%) higher from the previous weekend to 45,493.66 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 928, lost was 628, and unchanged was 59. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 129.66 yen. This was followed by Tokyo Electron <8035> at 100.28 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> at 71.31 yen, TDK <6762> at 44.06 yen, FANUC <6954> at 30.73 yen.
SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 90.15 yen to The Nikkei. Below, CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> was at 14.38 yen, KDDI <9433> was at 13.98 yen, DAIICHI SANKYO <4568> was at 10.23 yen, Shionogi <4507> was at 6.23 yen.
By industry, 19 of the 33 industries gained. Electric Appliances Sector ranked first, followed by Oil & Coal Products Sector, Chemicals Sector, and Banks Sector. Marine Transportation Sector, Information & Communication Sector, and Pharmaceuticals Sector were among the top losers.
