On the 18th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 513.05 yen (1.15%) higher from the previous day to 45,303.43 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 910, lost was 637, and unchanged was 68. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 185.03 yen. This was followed by Tokyo Electron <8035> at 122.06 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 39.50 yen, TDK <6762> at 34.19 yen, SONY <6758> at 28.02 yen.
Nintendo <7974> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 14.18 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 10.74 yen, KDDI <9433> was at 7.7 yen, KONAMI <9766> was at 7.43 yen, HOYA <7741> was at 4.31 yen.
By industry, 16 of the 33 industries gained. Electric Appliances Sector ranked first, followed by Nonferrous Metals Sector, Metal Products Sector, and Pharmaceuticals Sector. Electric Power & Gas Sector, Other Products Sector, and Air Transportation Sector were among the top losers.
