On the 12th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 897.69 yen (2.15%) higher from the previous weekend to 42,718.17 yen, rising for the fifth days in a row. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 962, lost was 599, and unchanged was 59. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was SoftBank Group Corp <9984>, pushing up The Nikkei by 194.49 yen. This was followed by ADVANTEST <6857> at 179.63 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> at 149.11 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> at 29.07 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 23.30 yen.
OLYMPUS <7733> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 14.38 yen to The Nikkei. Below, TOPPAN Holdings <7911> was at 6.99 yen, Nintendo <7974> was at 5.74 yen, Kao <4452> was at 5 yen, Ajinomoto <2802> was at 4.32 yen.
By industry, 26 of the 33 industries gained. Mining Sector ranked first, followed by Banks Sector, Information & Communication Sector, and Securities & Commodities Futures Sector. Other Products Sector, Oil & Coal Products Sector, and Pulp & Paper Sector were among the top losers.
