On the 8th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 761.33 yen (1.85%) higher from the previous day to 41,820.48 yen, rising for the forth days in a row. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1063, lost was 497, and unchanged was 60. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was SoftBank Group Corp <9984>, pushing up The Nikkei by 264.38 yen. This was followed by ADVANTEST <6857> at 101.29 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> at 91.57 yen, TERUMO <4543> at 55.51 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 27.35 yen.
CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 132.49 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Trend Micro <4704> was at 20.33 yen, Fujikura <5803> was at 14.01 yen, KURARAY <3405> was at 6.96 yen, SMC <6273> was at 5.77 yen.
By industry, 29 of the 33 industries gained. Rubber Products Sector ranked first, followed by Precision Instruments Sector, Other Products Sector, and Transportation Equipment Sector. Textiles & Apparels Sector, Pharmaceuticals Sector, and Nonferrous Metals Sector were among the top losers.
