The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1278, lost was 293, and unchanged was 49. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was SoftBank Group Corp <9984>, pushing up The Nikkei by 102.31 yen. This was followed by DAIKIN INDUSTRIES <6367> at 18.91 yen, KONAMI <9766> at 14.86 yen, SONY <6758> at 13.34 yen, TOYOTA TSUSHO <8015> at 12.56 yen.
Tokyo Electron <8035> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 85.59 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 39 yen, FANUC <6954> was at 11.31 yen, KIKKOMAN <2801> was at 8.1 yen, Trend Micro <4704> was at 7.06 yen.
By industry, 32 of the 33 industries gained, with only one industry, Services Sector, lost. Real Estate Sector ranked as a top gainer, followed by Construction Sector, Mining Sector, Oil & Coal Products Sector, Metal Products Sector, and Wholesale Trade Sector.
