On the 4th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 508.90 yen (-1.25%) lower from the previous weekend to 40,290.70 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 469, lost was 1096, and unchanged was 55. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
FAST RETAILING <9983> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 112.64 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 51.76 yen, TDK <6762> was at 48.12 yen, ADVANTEST <6857> was at 44.57 yen, KDDI <9433> was at 43.15 yen.
The top positive contributor was Nintendo <7974>, pushing up The Nikkei by 21.78 yen. This was followed by HOYA <7741> at 9.54 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 8.10 yen, Socionext <6526> at 4.52 yen, AEON <8267> at 2.67 yen.
By industry, 5 of the 33 industries gained. Other Products Sector ranked first, followed by Real Estate Sector, Precision Instruments Sector, and Air Transportation Sector. Banks Sector, Mining Sector, and Services Sector were among the top losers.
