The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1152, lost was 418, and unchanged was 53. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
FAST RETAILING <9983> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 262.56 yen to The Nikkei. Below, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was at 30.39 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 16.31 yen, Fujikura <5803> was at 8.37 yen, KONAMI <9766> was at 7.93 yen.
The top positive contributor was DAIKIN INDUSTRIES <6367>, pushing up The Nikkei by 33.26 yen. This was followed by TDK <6762> at 24.56 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 24.31 yen, ADVANTEST <6857> at 21.61 yen, NITTO DENKO <6988> at 14.60 yen.
By industry, 24 of the 33 industries gained. Marine Transportation Sector ranked first, followed by Pulp & Paper Sector, Iron & Steel Sector, and Securities & Commodities Futures Sector. Electric Power & Gas Sector, Nonferrous Metals Sector, and Services Sector were among the top losers.
