The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 1082, lost was 482, and unchanged was 64. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 76.10 yen. This was followed by Tokyo Electron <8035> at 59.87 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> at 33.33 yen, KONAMI <9766> at 28.94 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> at 13.77 yen.
TDK <6762> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 6.99 yen to The Nikkei. Below, NITTO DENKO <6988> was at 3.99 yen, Isetan Mitsukoshi <3099> was at 3.24 yen, MITSUI & CO <8031> was at 2.46 yen, HONDA MOTOR <7267> was at 2.39 yen.
By industry, 29 of the 33 industries gained. Iron & Steel Sector ranked first, followed by Air Transportation Sector, Information & Communication Sector, and Services Sector. Oil & Coal Products Sector, Metal Products Sector, and Wholesale Trade Sector were among the top losers.
