On the 15th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 372.62 yen (-0.98%) lower from the previous day to 37,755.51 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 488, lost was 1096, and unchanged was 46. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
FAST RETAILING <9983> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 59.07 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 28.14 yen, ADVANTEST <6857> was at 22.09 yen, TDK <6762> was at 19.71 yen, SONY <6758> was at 17.63 yen.
The top positive contributor was TAIYO YUDEN <6976>, pushing up The Nikkei by 5.31 yen. This was followed by AEON <8267> at 3.79 yen, NIDEC <6594> at 3.59 yen, Keisei Electric Railway <9009> at 3.52 yen, SECOM <9735> at 3.13 yen.
By industry, 9 of the 33 industries gained. Marine Transportation Sector ranked first, followed by Textiles & Apparels Sector, Land Transportation Sector, and Food Products Sector. Transportation Equipment Sector, Other Products Sector, and Securities & Commodities Futures Sector were among the top losers.
