The top positive contributor was FAST RETAILING <9983>, pushing up The Nikkei by 74.24 yen. This was followed by DAIKIN INDUSTRIES <6367> at 26.94 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> at 18.79 yen, ADVANTEST <6857> at 18.63 yen, CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> at 18.06 yen.
TDK <6762> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 16.46 yen to The Nikkei. Below, ITOCHU <8001> was at 7.45 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> was at 6.99 yen, SEIKO EPSON <6724> was at 6.62 yen, Mitsubishi <8058> was at 4.64 yen.
By industry, 24 of the 33 industries gained. Precision Instruments Sector ranked first, followed by Pharmaceuticals Sector, Other Products Sector, and Chemicals Sector. Banks Sector, Wholesale Trade Sector, and Other Financial Business Sector were among the top losers.
