On the 30th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 205.39 yen (0.57%) higher from the previous business day to 36,045.38 yen, rising for the fifth days in a row. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 921, lost was 648, and unchanged was 63. The number of rising stocks significantly exceeded the number of falling stocks.
The top positive contributor was SONY <6758>, pushing up The Nikkei by 41.74 yen. This was followed by ADVANTEST <6857> at 40.71 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> at 38.12 yen, TDK <6762> at 30.93 yen, KONAMI <9766> at 30.77 yen.
FAST RETAILING <9983> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 78.23 yen to The Nikkei. Below, KIKKOMAN <2801> was at 24.61 yen, TOYOTA MOTOR <7203> was at 9.56 yen, FANUC <6954> was at 8.65 yen, Hitachi <6501> was at 7.62 yen.
By industry, 23 of the 33 industries gained. Other Products Sector ranked first, followed by Services Sector, Pharmaceuticals Sector, and Banks Sector. Marine Transportation Sector, Oil & Coal Products Sector, and Transportation Equipment Sector were among the top losers.
