Tokyo Electron <8035> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 24.95 yen to The Nikkei. Below, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 24.75 yen, ADVANTEST <6857> was at 11.97 yen, CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> was at 10.68 yen, TDK <6762> was at 6.99 yen.
The top positive contributor was KDDI <9433>, pushing up The Nikkei by 14.17 yen. This was followed by Mitsubishi <8058> at 9.43 yen, ITOCHU <8001> at 6.72 yen, SECOM <9735> at 5.26 yen, DAIICHI SANKYO <4568> at 4.89 yen.
By industry, 24 of the 33 industries gained. Pulp & Paper Sector ranked first, followed by Wholesale Trade Sector, Electric Power & Gas Sector, and Fishery, Agriculture & Forestry Sector. Electric Appliances Sector, Banks Sector, and Precision Instruments Sector were among the top losers.
