The top positive contributor was FAST RETAILING <9983>, pushing up The Nikkei by 132.52 yen. This was followed by ADVANTEST <6857> at 42.58 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 38.92 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> at 30.24 yen, KONAMI <9766> at 16.46 yen.
CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 20.26 yen to The Nikkei. Below, DAIICHI SANKYO <4568> was at 14.07 yen, SONY <6758> was at 12.47 yen, Otsuka <4578> was at 10.78 yen, KDDI <9433> was at 9.78 yen.
By industry, 9 of the 33 industries gained. Other Products Sector ranked first, followed by Transportation Equipment Sector, Machinery Sector, and Services Sector. Pharmaceuticals Sector, Electric Power & Gas Sector, and Mining Sector were among the top losers.
