Tokyo Electron <8035> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 75.46 yen to The Nikkei. Below, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 67.47 yen, ADVANTEST <6857> was at 51.03 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 25.06 yen, TOYOTA MOTOR <7203> was at 21.04 yen.

The top positive contributor was NEXON <3659>, pushing up The Nikkei by 3.32 yen. This was followed by Otsuka <4578> at 3.06 yen, KDDI <9433> at 2.17 yen, KONAMI <9766> at 1.64 yen, NTT DATA <9613> at 1.32 yen.

By industry, all 33 industries were losers. Securities & Commodities Futures Sector ranked as a top loser, followed by Marine Transportation Sector, Iron & Steel Sector, Transportation Equipment Sector, Banks Sector, and Oil & Coal Products Sector.
