On the 25th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 539.15 yen (-1.39%) lower from the previous weekend to 38,237.79 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 723, lost was 843, and unchanged was 71.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 165.72 yen to The Nikkei. Below, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 126.07 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> was at 123.8 yen, SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was at 78.72 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 54.94 yen.
The top positive contributor was Mitsubishi <8058>, pushing up The Nikkei by 20.57 yen. This was followed by CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> at 17.85 yen, KDDI <9433> at 15.39 yen, ITOCHU <8001> at 13.48 yen, FANUC <6954> at 11.84 yen.
By industry, 12 of the 33 industries gained. Wholesale Trade Sector ranked first, followed by Pharmaceuticals Sector, Marine Transportation Sector, and Land Transportation Sector. Nonferrous Metals Sector, Oil & Coal Products Sector, and Electric Appliances Sector were among the top losers.
