The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 589, lost was 999, and unchanged was 49. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.
The top positive contributor was SoftBank Group Corp <9984>, pushing up The Nikkei by 33.34 yen. This was followed by ADVANTEST <6857> at 32.09 yen, SONY <6758> at 24.99 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> at 15.98 yen, CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> at 13.42 yen.
OLYMPUS <7733> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 29.07 yen to The Nikkei. Below, DENTSU <4324> was at 15.06 yen, TDK <6762> was at 14.55 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> was at 12.99 yen, HONDA MOTOR <7267> was at 8.98 yen.
By industry, 17 of the 33 industries gained. Rubber Products Sector ranked first, followed by Oil & Coal Products Sector, Other Products Sector, and Electric Appliances Sector. Mining Sector, Precision Instruments Sector, and Transportation Equipment Sector were among the top losers.
