The top positive contributor was ADVANTEST <6857>, pushing up The Nikkei by 62.34 yen. This was followed by KONAMI <9766> at 39.46 yen, KYOCERA <6971> at 30.91 yen, Tokyo Electron <8035> at 27.13 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> at 23.18 yen.
FAST RETAILING <9983> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 88.78 yen to The Nikkei. Below, DAIICHI SANKYO <4568> was at 9.86 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> was at 7.4 yen, SECOM <9735> was at 6.18 yen, KEYENCE <6861> was at 5.26 yen.
By industry, 20 of the 33 industries gained. Nonferrous Metals Sector ranked first, followed by Textiles & Apparels Sector, Electric Appliances Sector, and Transportation Equipment Sector. Air Transportation Sector, Fishery, Agriculture & Forestry Sector, and Oil & Coal Products Sector were among the top losers.
