On the 17th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 121.14 yen (-0.31%) lower from the previous day to 38,451.46 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 685, lost was 891, and unchanged was 64.

SoftBank Group Corp <9984> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 24.07 yen to The Nikkei. Below, TDK <6762> was at 17.51 yen, FAST RETAILING <9983> was at 15.98 yen, Nintendo <7974> was at 13.45 yen, Shin-Etsu Chemical <4063> was at 12.66 yen.

The top positive contributor was FANUC <6954>, pushing up The Nikkei by 9.70 yen. This was followed by YASKAWA Electric <6506> at 6.48 yen, DAIKIN INDUSTRIES <6367> at 5.75 yen, KEYENCE <6861> at 4.60 yen, OMRON <6645> at 4.60 yen.

By industry, 10 of the 33 industries gained. Securities & Commodities Futures Sector ranked first, followed by Iron & Steel Sector, Oil & Coal Products Sector, and Glass & Ceramics Products Sector. Other Products Sector, Insurance Sector, and Transportation Equipment Sector were among the top losers.
