On the 15th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 29.72 yen (-0.08%) lower from the previous day to 38,444.58 yen, falling for the fifth days in a row. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 863, lost was 704, and unchanged was 73.
ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 87.86 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Tokyo Electron <8035> was at 36.01 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 12.82 yen, CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> was at 8.48 yen, NTT DATA <9613> was at 7.32 yen.
The top positive contributor was FAST RETAILING <9983>, pushing up The Nikkei by 55.04 yen. This was followed by FANUC <6954> at 38.64 yen, TDK <6762> at 14.30 yen, SONY <6758> at 8.38 yen, Nintendo <7974> at 7.66 yen.
By industry, 20 of the 33 industries gained. Banks Sector ranked first, followed by Other Products Sector, Fishery, Agriculture & Forestry Sector, and Insurance Sector. Pharmaceuticals Sector, Wholesale Trade Sector, and Construction Sector were among the top losers.
