On the 9th, Nikkei Stock Average <^N225> closed 375.97 yen (-0.94%) lower from the previous day to 39,605.09 yen. The number of stocks on Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Prime gained was 330, lost was 1277, and unchanged was 34. The number of declining stocks significantly exceeded the number of rising stocks.

ADVANTEST <6857> was the highest on the list with a negative contribution of 52.87 yen to The Nikkei. Below, Tokyo Electron <8035> was at 49.82 yen, Recruit Holdings <6098> was at 21.7 yen, TDK <6762> was at 16.03 yen, Lasertec <6920> was at 11.25 yen.

The top positive contributor was FAST RETAILING <9983>, pushing up The Nikkei by 25.75 yen. This was followed by CHUGAI PHARMA <4519> at 23.38 yen, Nintendo <7974> at 7.10 yen, NTT DATA <9613> at 5.84 yen, Trend Micro <4704> at 3.91 yen.

By industry, 30 of the 33 industries lost, with only 3 industries Other Products Sector, Pharmaceuticals Sector, and Real Estate Sector, gained. Marine Transportation Sector ranked as a top loser, followed by Wholesale Trade Sector, Insurance Sector, Transportation Equipment Sector, Nonferrous Metals Sector, and Oil & Coal Products Sector.
