KANEKA, Ordinary Profit Forecast for the Fiscal Year Revised Downward to an Unexpected 4% Decrease

Earnings ReportKANEKA CORPORATION <4118> [TSE Prime] announced its financial results after the market closed on November 12th (16:00). The consolidated ordinary profit for the cumulative second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2026 (April to September) decreased 18.3% from the same period last year to 11.7 billion yen.
In addition, the full-year forecast for consolidated ordinary profit has decreased 17.4%, from the previous forecast of 38.0 billion yen to 31.4 billion yen (compared to 32.8 billion yen in the previous period). This changes the outlook from an anticipated profit increase to a projection of a 4.5% decrease in profit.
Based on the first-half performance announced by the company and the full-year plan, our calculation indicates that the consolidated ordinary profit for the October to March period (second half) is expected to grow 6.3% from the same period last year, reaching 19.6 billion yen.
In the most recent three-month period, from July to September (2Q), the consolidated ordinary profit increased 34.8% from the same period last year, reaching 5.72 billion yen. However, the operating profit margin worsened from 4.5% in the same period last year to 3.4%.
