Earnings ReportMitsui Kinzoku Company, Limited <5706> [TSE Prime] announced its financial results after the market closed on November 11th (15:30). The consolidated ordinary profit for the cumulative second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2026 (April to September) was 39.1 billion yen, a 2.0% increase compared to the same period last year, resulting in an increase in profits compared to the previous forecast of a 40.1% decrease.
In addition, the full-year forecast for consolidated ordinary profit has been revised upward 75.0%, from the previous forecast of 44.0 billion yen to 77.0 billion yen (compared to 76.4 billion yen in the previous period), record profits reach two consecutive terms, turning to a 0.8% increase in the consolidated ordinary profit outlook.
Based on the first-half performance announced by the company and the full-year plan, our calculation indicates that the consolidated ordinary profit for the October to March period (second half) is expected to nearly flat at 37.8 billion yen, down 0.4% from the same period last year.
In light of the strong performance, the company has increased its planned annual dividend for the current fiscal year from the original plan of 195 yen to 210 yen (compared to 180 yen in the previous period).
In the most recent three-month period, from July to September (2Q), the consolidated ordinary profit surged 2.4 times that of the same period last year, reaching 29.1 billion yen. The operating profit margin drastically improved from 8.6% in the same period last year to 14.5%.
