DNA Chip Research Inc. <2397> [TSE-S] announced its financial results after the market closed on November 7th (16:00). The ordinary loss (non-consolidated) for the cumulative second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2025 (April to September) was a reduced loss of 30 million yen (compared to a loss of 160 million yen in the same period last year).

Based on the first-half performance announced by the company and the unchanged full-year plan, our calculation indicates that the ordinary profit/loss for the October to March period (second half) is expected to turn into a profit of 130 million yen (compared to a loss of 85 million yen in the same period last year).

In the most recent three-month period, from July to September (2Q), the ordinary loss improved to a deficit of loss of 11 million yen (compared to a loss of 65 million yen in the same period last year). The operating profit/loss margin drastically improved from -67.0% in the same period last year to -4.7%.
